Allow me to introduce the new Sandwich Mega pad.

This is an amazing new design which will bring relief to all you ladies whose periods are so heavy you cannot really leave the house. This pad has some special features: firstly, it is super absorbent. This is because it has 7 layers of bamboo fabric, including 3 full layers which cover the whole of the pad. The more fabric in a pad, the more it can cope with. Also this pad has the possibility of adding as many more boosters as you may need, and it still remains slimline. It dries quickly, because there are no sections thicker than 2 layers, so you can use and wash it, and have it ready again within 24 hours, even without a tumble dryer. And that will reduce the number of pads you need to buy.
The poppers around the outdside are there to hold the pad together and to hold the boosters in place. The bottom layer is backed with completely waterproof PUL fabric, and is slightly bigger than the top layer. The whole pad is really big - it measures a whopping 16" in length, a generous 3" across the gusset, and the flared ends are 9" at the widest point.
This is a big pad for larger ladies (UK trouser size 16 and up), and it will keep you dry for up to 3 hours with even the heaviest flow.

Been making a pile of tampons. They have been out of stock for a while, so it really is time to get them made up again.

I have just been to the Breastfeeding Festival in Ulverston in Cumbria, where the HYF stall raised a few eyebrows amongst those new to cloth pads! HYF breastpads will now be endorsed by UKAMB Milk Bank for use by their milk doners.

I just have to tell you about this new fabric I have discovered - colour grown brown cotton velour. It is totally undyed, yet has this lovely rich brown colour, and this is because the cotton plant itself is brown. Apparently in former times, farmers used to grow cottons in different shades to produce different coloured fabrics without dying, but with the advent of mass production, white became the exclusive colour grown, as it is easy to dye. Anyway, I am treating you to this wonderful natural fabric for your pads! In terms of its organic credentials, the plants were grown organically and the fibre has GOTS certification, but the manufacture process is not organic, so overall it doesn't have an organic label. The feel is very soft and similar to the organic cotton velour pads we sell, which leads me to believe there are not many if any chemicals in the fabric. I am ordering more fabric and will soon make some wool backed pads too.

Have you had a good look at the new design? - Slim Pads! They are absolutely amazingly comfortable to wear, and the shape is such that it fits most sizes of woman. The Minis are 1" longer than the normal HYF Minis, at 8", and the Regulars are also an inch longer than the normal HYF Regulars, measuring 9". The Maxis are just a half an inch longer, measuring 11" You can't really feel the smaller pads, and the larger ones, even the Mega Slims, just find the shape of your body. The wings may look a bit funny, sticking out a bit from the front view, but they make the pads the most slimline design yet.
